Nothing got us moving in 2012 quite like Oberhofer’s debut full-length Time Capsules II. Marrying the catchiness of surf rock and the quirks of new wave with playful indie themes as the pastor, Time Capsules II could be guilty of mind control with the amount of toe-tapping progressions and singalong choruses it encapsulates. Adding in the fact that some of Oberhofer’s members are natives of our home state of Washington and you’ve got a recipe for perfection.
In several tweets we declared Oberhofer’s Time Capsules II our album of the summer, but even in winter we’ve found ourselves drowning out the cold with the album’s hip-twisting, steering-wheel-drumming warmth.
