Last weekend, September 20-22, DRY Soda had the pleasure of attending the first-ever Feast Portland, and we’ll be the first to say that we’re already looking forward to many more. This has the makeup of becoming the west coast’s best food and wine festival, hands down. And with the focus of the event on ending childhood hunger in Oregon and nationwide, uniting the nation’s best food and wine experts for the weekend felt like a powerful statement for the cause.
With several incredible events such as the Sandwich Invitational – a throwdown of the nation’s best sandwich samurais – and the Night Market – transforming the scene into a sprawl of Asian street food vendors – there was plenty to take in. DRY Soda was at the Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting on 9/21 serving sips to the throng of thirsty feasters and making new fans and friends in the process.
The crowd drawn to Feast, including Fergus Henderson, Naomi Pomeroy, Jeffrey Steingarten among others, helped make it an incredible atmosphere, and with so many renowned foodies it would be difficult not to be inspired by the collective culinary expertise circulating in the air (and in our bellies). Check out some of the friends we made below!
We’ll see you in September 2013, Feast; it’s going to take us at least that long to recover from the amazing time we just had.
