For Immediate Release:
Craft Soda Category Frontrunner Hires Former Starbucks and LÄRABAR Industry Veterans
DRY Soda Company, creator of beautifully flavored, lightly sweet sodas, today announced the addition of Tamara Ryan as chief financial officer and Gordon Cooper as vice president of sales. The new hires further bolster DRY Soda Co.’s powerful executive team of CPG veterans who have made its cornerstone brand, DRY Sparkling, one of the fastest growing carbonated soft drink brands in the U.S. Ryan and Cooper will also play key roles in the launch of DRY Zero Sugar organic sodas, which are rolling out nationwide this month.
“Tamara and Gordon’s extensive backgrounds in the CPG space will support our goal to reshape the future of our category,” said Sharelle Klaus, founder and CEO of DRY Soda Co. “It’s rare to find such accomplished talent combined with an entrepreneurial mindset, strategic vision, and a passion for the beverage space. We’re thrilled to welcome them to the DRY Soda Co. team.”
Ryan joins DRY Soda Co. as CFO and will be instrumental in producing focused growth, while overseeing all finance and accounting functions. With more than two decades of experience in her field, Ryan previously served in key roles at Starbucks, where she helped to support the sale of the Tazo brand to Unilever, and Kellogg, where she led the finance integration of the newly acquired Pringles business. While at Starbucks, she also oversaw the finance and accounting function for the Evolution Fresh brand, including the establishment of its RTD go-to-market strategy, cost savings initiatives, and divestiture of Evolution Fresh retail stores.
“I am excited to be part of a team that continues to elevate the soda category,” Ryan said about the brand. “Health and wellness is important to me and I’m especially supportive of DRY’s products because they taste amazing and provide consumers with the opportunity to make better choices for themselves and their families.”
A seasoned sales expert, Cooper joins DRY Soda Co. as VP of sales and will spearhead DRY Sparkling and DRY Zero Sugar sales and distribution throughout the United States and Canada. Cooper is the former VP of sales for several CPG and natural products companies, including Teton Waters Ranch, Dr. Lucy’s, Quinoa Corporation, and LÄRABAR, where he saw the brand through its acquisition by General Mills.
“DRY is leading the CSD industry with new innovation and better-for-you products,” said Cooper. “I’m excited to join DRY’s team, especially in the midst of the launch of new DRY Zero Sugar sodas. We have so much opportunity to grow our company and bring our brands to more consumers.”
DRY Sparkling sodas are available in 12,000+ retailers nationwide, while DRY Zero Sugar organic sodas will be available in more than 2,000 locations in 2018, including Kroger and Target (nationwide). To learn more about DRY Soda Co. and its brands, please visit www.drysoda.com.
